Things To DoIn June, During Your Term of Office WHEN YOU COMPLETE EACH ITEM - CHECK IT OFF. 1. Contact club presidents by June 5. Ensure each club’s Annual Report of Club Election is submitted by June 1. Encourage club president to meet with club president-designate as soon as possible and to fully involve the successor in all club activities and operations. Follow up with any club that has not paid district or International dues. 2. Report. Submit Lieutenant Governor’s Division Evaluation Report after May 1, but no later than July 15. 3. Conventions. Finalize plans to attend district and International conventions. Make certain lieutenant governor-designate also is attending both conventions. 4. Meet with lieutenant governor-designate. Discuss progress and future challenges of each club. Offer advice regarding division organization. Make certain copies of clubs’ monthly reports are available for review. Encourage early and continuous contact with club presidents-designate and with next year’s division leadership team. Encourage continuous attention to the growth and progress of sponsored programs within the division (where applicable). Help with Club Leadership Education for incoming club leaders. 5. Conduct division council meeting. Invite incoming club presidents, secretaries, and lieutenant governor-designate to attend, along with current club officers. Discuss candidate(s) for governor-elect and issues to be decided at upcoming district and International conventions. Childrens Miracle Network Telethon: The date for the Children's Miracle Network Telethon is June 1st. Kiwanians have a reserved on-air time of 2:30 to 3:00 pm. The telethon is broadcast from WMAR, Channel 2, in Towson. Finalize plans to attend district and International Conventions. 3. Club president-designate. Involve your successor in club operations and procedures and encourage early preparation for next year. See that secretary gives club president’s packet to incoming president. 4. Awards. Review Kiwanis International award programs (p. 153), district, division, and club award programs. Determine if your club is on target. Look for additional opportunities. 5. Worldwide Service Project. Review progress of the WSP and agree on any further actions for the remainder of the year. 6. Membership development. Make sure the new members receive proper orientation and induction. Help new members get involved with club committees in areas that match their interests. 7. Sponsored Organizations and Programs. Help ensure your sponsored clubs are represented at their International Conventions. (Election results must be filed with the district and International offices promptly so new directories may be compiled.) 2. Club Officer Packet. Give Club Officer Packet to next year’s president. (These leadership materials are sent from the International Office to the current club secretary in mid-May.) 3. International convention. Finalize plans for delegates attending International convention. Be sure delegate certificate is filed. 4. Membership development. If a member is moving out of the community, contact the Growth Department at the International Office to assist the Kiwanian in locating Kiwanis clubs in the new area. Use the Member Transfer form included in Membership Development Manual. Send Membership Record and New Member Add forms and membership fees to the International and district offices. Ambassadors at Howard County General Each week one member from our club takes a couple hours out of his or her day to volunteer at the Emergency Room. Our purpose is to be a resource to the patients and their families through such simple tasks as getting a blanket for a patient, helping individuals find their family members, and assisting in the registration process.
