Kiwanis Leadership Guide - Lt. Gov's November Agenda
Things To Do
In November, During Your Term of Office
WHEN YOU COMPLETE EACH ITEM - CHECK IT OFF.
1. Contact each club president. (Do this each month.)
Collect monthly club reports by the 10th of each month.
Verify on monthly report that presidents have adopted an administrative and service budget, completed
community and club analyses, attended a Club Leadership Education session, and conducted Club President’s
Education of Incoming Officers and Appointees.
Remind them that Membership Record changes and new-member adds are due (p. 136).
Check progress on club goals.
Remind of upcoming division council meeting, midyear conference, governor’s visit, etc.
Ask presidents about their club’s Young Children: Priority One activities.
2. Reports.
Nominate outstanding Young Children: Priority One projects for banner patch. This may be done at anytime
throughout the year.
Submit Lieutenant Governor’s Report on Education and Contact Visits by December 1.
3. Sponsored Organizations and Programs.
Follow-up with Circle K and Key Club lieutenant governors and Builders Club, K-Kids, and
Aktion Club chairmen for the division (where applicable).
4. Prepare your successor.
Involve the lieutenant governor-elect in preparation for assuming responsibility next year.
Begin thinking about viable candidates for the next lieutenant governor-elect. Consider meeting with them before
February to talk about the role and responsibilities of the lieutenant governor. Seek advice on potential
candidates from former lieutenant governors and other Kiwanis whose judgment you value.
5. Kiwanis International Foundation.
Plan a special program to celebrate Kiwanis International Foundation Week.
Encourage clubs to send Annual Club Gift Campaign donations to the Kiwanis International Foundation.

In November, During Your Term of Office
WHEN YOU COMPLETE EACH ITEM - CHECK IT OFF.
1. Reports.
Club secretary must submit an Official Monthly Report by the 10th of month. Indicate completion of Club
Leadership Education, community analysis, club assessment, and adoption of administration and service budgets.
Ensure that committee chairmen submit Reports to the club secretary.
2. Board meeting.
Review minutes of past month’s board meeting prepared for board approval. (Do each month.)
Prepare agenda. (Do each month.)
Remind officers, board members, committee chairmen, and special appointees of date, time, and place. (Do each
month.)
Invite sponsored programs’ leaders and advisors.
Evaluate past month’s club meetings and adjust as needed (p. 113). (Do each month.)
Review roster and determine nonattending members. Re-engage them in club meetings and activities now. (Do
each month.)
3. Communications.
Make certain all club, division, district, and International news, projects, and events are communicated through
bulletins and announcements. Members should learn something about Kiwanis each week.
Form a public relations or membership committee to work on a Public Awareness event for January or a service
project with high visibility.
4. Distinguished Club Award.
Review progress (p. 153).
5. Worldwide Service Project.
Make periodic reports on the progress of the campaign and how the money is helping.
6. Sponsored Organizations and Programs.
Verify that Key Club, Circle K, Builders Club, Aktion Club and K-Kids club dues and fees
payments have been made.
Observe Kiwanis Family Month. Designate weeks to recognize the Circle K, Key Club, Builders Club, Aktion Club,
and K-Kids clubs that you sponsor.
7. Kiwanis International Foundation.
Plan a special program to celebrate Kiwanis International Foundation Week.
Mail club donation for Annual Club Gift Campaign to Kiwanis International Foundation.

• Kiwanis International Foundation Week (Any week can be designated for Kiwanis International Foundation, Circle K
International, Key Club International, Builders Club, Aktion Club and/or K-Kids week.)

WHEN YOU COMPLETE EACH ITEM - CHECK IT OFF.
1. Reports.
Mail Official Monthly Report for October by November 10. Indicate completion of Club Leadership Education,
community analysis, club assessment, and adoption of administration and service budgets. File in binder. (Do
this each month.)
Send Membership Records and New Member Add forms and membership fees to the International and district
offices. (Do this each month.)
Prepare minutes of past month’s board meeting for board approval.
2. Due dates.
Kiwanis International and district dues payable October 1. If not paid in 90 days, the club will be in
violation of Procedures on Club Status (p. 150).
3. Checklists.
Review Committee Meeting/Report Checklist (p. 91).
4. Sponsored Organizations.
If you sponsor a Circle K club in the US, ensure the club secretary has submitted each club member’s
International dues by December 1.
5. Kiwanis International Foundation
Plan a special program to celebrate Kiwanis International Foundation Week.
Mail club donations for Annual Club Gift Campaign to Kiwanis International Foundation.

Kiwanis Club of Prince Georges County
Time: 7:00pm - 11:00pm
Location: Lanham, MD
The Kiwanis Club of PG County will host their "Annual Gala" at the La Fontaine Bleu at 7963 Annapolis Rd, Lanham, MD. Entertainment will be Bob Charlton on piano with an elimination drawaing for $2,500 and silent auction. Dress is business casual and benefits will support Melwood Endowment Fund, Salvation Army, Cystic Fibrosis & other community services. Seating is limited to 160 persons at $100 per ticket.
